We have created Note 2107965 that addresses this issue. It appears to be a problem with one or more Microsoft security updates.
Until Microsoft releases a fix for this issue you can use one of the following two workarounds:
First workaround:
Uninstall the problematic Security updates:
- Security update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2553154)
- Security update for Microsoft Word 2010 (KB2899518)
- Security update for Microsoft Word 2010 (KB2899519)
- Security update for Microsoft Excel 2010 (KB2910902)
Second Workaround:
Delete any "MSForms.exd" files in any subfolder of the "C:\Users\[user.name]\AppData\Local\Temp\" folder.
Depending on the specific applications installed on your desktop you may find this file in a variety of sub-folders:
C:\Users\[user.name]\AppData\Local\Temp\Excel8.0\MSForms.exd
C:\Users\[user.name]\AppData\Local\Temp\VBE\MSForms.exd
C:\Users\[user.name]\AppData\Local\Temp\Word8.0\MSForms.exd
C:\Users\[user.name]\AppData\Local\Temp\2\Excel8.0\MSForms.exd
etc...
