Re: Crystal Reports 2011 designer menu

Thank you very much for your responses.

Unfortunately Don's solution won't work for us (most likely I didn't explain fully what we need). Ludek, you're right - we need to modify reports. We use creation API to build reports from scratch, we do add groups, fields, totals, subreports through .NET code. This is not an issue.

But we need to go beyond it - we need to give end user ability to modify created by us report in Crystal designer. We understand Crystal licensing, and every end user has licensed copy of CR designer.

What we really need is to give user ability to open .rpt file and modify it using Crystal designer. The problem is, as mentioned before, security. We need to hide Designer menu (Save As, Open etc) so user cannot browse through directories and folders.

The question - is it possible? Can we completely or partially hide/disable these menu options?

Thanks again,

Igor
